The 2015 Intel Asia Innovation Summit took place in Taiwan in October. More than 250 representatives from academia, government organizations, and businesses attended the summit to explore many key technologies including the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and future innovation possibilities to promote long-term R&D cooperation between Taiwan and other Asia countries. The achievements of Intel Labs' cooperation with the Industrial Technology Research Institute and Intel-NTU Connected Context Computing Center were also announced at the summit.
In the fourth quarter of this year, we are most excited about the official opening of Intel Taiwan's new office in Nangang District, Taipei on December 3; many industry leaders visited our new office and celebrated the opening with us. Since Intel commenced operation in Taiwan, the company has been witnessing the burgeoning, growth, takeoff, and transformation of the Taiwan IT industry. We are confident that the Taiwan IT industry will steadfastly pursue ongoing improvement to provide even stronger momentum to brand name PCs and other new computing devices. We will continue developing creative solutions together with our partners to help customers develop toward smart connectivity and create a new industry ecosystem to expedite business growth.
At the end of this year, Intel Taiwan Volunteers continued the long-term cooperation with the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families to take care of underprivileged children and families. As usual, we raised used but mint goods for the fund's charity bazaar and donated all the proceeds from the bazaar to the fund. Working with Little Sisters of the Poor: Home for the Aged, Intel has been providing necessary materials to the nursing home, accompanying the dwellers there on festival days, and assisting in rebuilding the nursing home. Encouraging employee to care for the society is key to Intel's corporate social responsibility fulfillment, and our employee volunteers can also enrich their own life by providing more positive influences to the society.
