Computex Taipei 2015 just concluded successfully. At this 2015 event, Kirk Skaugen, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Intel’s Client Computing Group, noted in his keynote speech that everything will have computing power and Internet access in the future while Intel will continue its smart Internet of Things investment. Skaugen also emphasized that the ongoing cooperation between Intel and its Taiwan partners will effectively seize business opportunities, forge the future of computing, and show the world even greater innovations. Moreover, this May Intel opened its independent concept store at SYNTREND in Taipei, which is the company’s first ever concept store in Asia Pacific as an attempt of experience marketing to draw crowds and provide them a hands-on experience in our latest technologies and solutions.

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair has recently announced its 2015 winners. There were 1,700 finalists, and Taiwan students won one First Award, two Third Award, and two Fourth Awards. The Maker Movement, an overwhelming trend now, has also witnessed Intel’s presence; Intel Galileo Development Board and Intel Edison Board were provided to students to encourage problem-solving creativity and innovation, What they developed based on these boards was demonstrated at Maker Faire Taipei 2015, showcasing their free, open, sharing, and“make it yours”maker spirit.

In order to help the schoolchildren in remote rural villages who lack relevant learning resources enjoy learning, volunteers from Intel have started to make good use of their professional expertise to teach computer skills and English to the students at Neiwan Elementary School in Hsinchu. The students have benefited significant from the interesting teaching and tutoring provided by Intel and look forward to Intel volunteers’ ongoing presence. Environmental protection-wise, our colleagues visited a community in North Taiwan on April 28 to help local pond and mountain cleaning as an effort to support the Earth Day, too.
