In the 4th quarter of 2014, Intel hosted two major Asia Pacific events in Taiwan, setting a new milestone of the cooperation between Intel and the supply chain in Taiwan. In November, the first ever Intel Asia Innovation Summit took place in Taiwan, gathering scholars, researchers, government and industry delegates from across the region to exchange views and foster

long-term partnership for R&D and technology innovation. The event also demonstrated the latest innovations and advanced technologies developed together by Intel, its partners in the IT industry, and R&D communities. Such fully integrated innovations and technologies can enable seamless Internet connectivity and will completely revolutionize future computing. At the Intel IoT Asia event in October, Intel and its partners demonstrated the latest IoT developments and applications while elaborating on Intel’s vision for realizing IoT in Asia by vertical integration innovation, end-to-end integration, and acceleration of ecosystem cooperation.   Moreover, Intel has made a breakthrough in context awareness computing. For the first time, Intel and Prof. Stephen Hawking together demonstrated a communications platform, Assistive Context Aware Toolkit (ACAT), developed by Intel based on Hawking’s exact needs. The customized platform will replace Hawking’s decade-old communications system for he to better communicate with the world and will also be available to research and technology communities.   In retrospect of 2014, Intel continued its corporate social responsibility initiatives to take care of the underprivileged on a long-term basis. We worked with the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families as well as the Garden of Hope Foundation to hold charity bazaars regularly to help children of poor families. This year our volunteers started to visit Neiwan Elementary School in an area without sufficient education resources, using their English proficiency and professional computer skills to teach English conversations and computer animation development to the students there. This is because education in remote rural villages is always a community outreach focus at Intel Taiwan. Lastly, on behalf of Intel Taiwan, I would like to wish you a happy and successful 2015.
